2022 COVID Rules and Guidelines
At The Five Star Theatre Company, the safety of our children, staff, parents, volunteers, and patrons is our highest priority. We have created extensive rules and guidelines to ensure a safe return for all. It is important to us that everyone feels comfortable attending our program. We will continue monitoring guidelines and recommendations from the Center for Disease Control. This plan will be continually updated as more information is obtained to create a plan that reflects the best current practices.
Thank you for reviewing the information below. We believe that, upon reflection, you will make a personal decision as to whether the time is right for you to return to Five Star. Please know that we respect whatever decision you make, just as we know you will respect our decision to move forward with care.
The Five Star Theatre Company understands the decision to get the COVID-19 vaccination is a personal choice, but for the safety of our staff, children, and volunteers, we encourage you to seriously consider being fully vaccinated before this summer.
Program Participation
-
All participants must either show proof of being fully vaccinated or show a negative COVID test prior to our Monday and Wednesday sessions.
-
If your child does not feel well when they wake up or have been exposed to COVID-19, we ask that they stay home.
-
Drop-off and pickup will happen under the bridge by the field house. At this time, only students and staff are permitted in the building during the day.
Masks/Hand Washing/Social Distancing
-
All attendees and staff will be required to wear face masks for most of the day. [Please read the CDC guidelines for approved masks]. Masks must fit properly and fully cover both the nose and mouth.
-
Rehearsals and workshops will be held outside, weather permitting. In which case face masks will be optional.
-
Staff and attendees may remove masks while actively eating or drinking. We ask that you socially distance, when possible, before removing your mask.
-
Hand sanitizer will be provided in each classroom and rehearsal space.
-
Signs will be placed in restroom facilities encouraging students and staff to frequently wash their hands.
-
If an attendee starts feeling ill during the day, they will immediately be separated from others and parents/guardians will be called to pick them up.
Building
Our facility will be cleaned and disinfected daily using EPA supplies.
Performances
-
Our performers will NOT be masked while on stage during performances.
-
If you are not vaccinated, you will need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test before the dress rehearsal and each performance.
-
Prior to the performance (while getting ready) and at the conclusion of the performance we will require everyone to wear their masks.
-
Regardless of vaccine status, all audience members (regardless of age) will be required to wear masks in the building while attending a performance or volunteering. Those who refuse to wear a mask will be asked to leave.
-
To reduce the need for patrons to unmask in our spaces, concessions will not be for sale and our performance will not have an intermission.
We thank you in advance for helping keep your fellow parents and theatre-goers safe!

Please notify the directors immediately if there is a COVID positive result or exposure.
